does anybody remember the song' the folk singer ' by Tommy roe?

i'm just listening to it now, it was way before my time, i was born in the 1970s....was the folk singer 1960s or 1950s? apparently it wasn't a hit in the u.s but entered no 4 here in the uk charts.

    I remember Tommy Roe.  He was on our 'Top 40' stations back in the 60s.  He reminded me of Buddy Holly, though you'd have to be even older to remember Buddy Holly.

    And I remember the song 'The Folk Singer' also, though it wasn't a big hit here.

    That wpuld be the 60s. His career was 60s into the 70s.

    I remember both the singer and the song.  I grew up in the 60s.  Folk singer came out in 1963.  I think his biggest song would have been "Dizzy" from about 69.  You might enjoy that if you haven't heard it already.
