Ford Ranger Pick Up ?

For the Ford Ranger South African version pickup, why are parts like air flow sensors and others only available from specialised dealers?

The model sold in SA has been tropicalised and so has modifications unique to that market to cope with hotter and much dustier environments.

A lot of those adaptations affect the air intake and air filtration system. So the air flow sensor is not the same as on a “standard” Ford Ranger.

Australian examples are also tropicalised, but Ford Australia import standard models and add their own tropicalisation modifications which are not the same as the ones in SA.

In both cases, official Ford dealers in those countries are the only places which supply the correct parts.

Not a typical stock production item so they are not commonly stocked in every auto parts shop. See if Rock Auto stocks those parts.

It is a new truck.  Aftermarket parts will be soon be available at regular car parts stores.
