    It is likely to see a footnote. Usually an asterisk is used. Being near the price, my conclusion makes sense.

    It is a form of asterisk  called a double dagger - there will be an explanatory note somewhere on the tin regarding the price which will be to do with the fact that manufacturers can't set prices (they give recommended retail prices). You find them in footnotes when symbols rather than numbers are used, although they rarely occur on keyboards.
