  • Got stories about rich people behaving badly?

Can you tell me a story about appalling behaviour by rich people?

Perhaps you work in a service industry such as waitressing or hotel work. If you have a story about a rich person behaving really badly or unreasonably, please share it!

    Thanks!

  • Take control of my website?

I got a website built by a company. I'd now like to take over control of this. They bought the domain and host it, as well as built it. Which steps do I need to take now? I'm guessing these:

    - request domain transfer

    - transfer hosting

    Anything else?

  • Dodgy domain speculator trying to access my GoDaddy account?

I've successfully negotiated to purchase a domain from a speculator. He's now asking for a customer number and the email associated with my GoDaddy account to do the transfer. This concerns me. Is it secure? is there another way to do this?

I'm looking at a fairly short term contract in Nice, France (3-6 months). I'd like to get an idea of accommodation costs. For instance, one room in a shared house, studio flat, one bed flat. Thanks for any advice!

  • Anyone commuting to Worthing from London?

I'm London based but can situate myself anywhere round London. There's a job in Worthing I'm very interested in. Wondering whether to position myself somewhere like Croydon and do the big commute. Any thoughts?

  • Rat catcher or poison?

My cat keeps leaving dead rats in the garden. There's no sign of them in the house, I believe she may be waiting by the drain and grabbing them when they come out of the sewer. I'd like to resolve the problem once and for all, would you recommend poison or other method or am I better getting an exterminator in? Money's tight and it's difficult waiting in for people to call round.

  • Word that means 'not uncommon but not frequent'?

I'm trying to describe something that happens fairly regularly - but using one word! I'm describing three things: one is very common, one is very rare and the third is...somewhere between the two. What's a good word to describe the middling event? Has to be formal/scientific word.

  • Question about registering as limited company?

I'm going to start contracting in a few weeks and several sources - including freelance agencies - have advised to set up as limited company, they think this is slightly better option than sole trader. I agree as it may be the case I need to take on a freelancer myself to help with the work. The problem is the HMRC site seems to think I should be selling shares and that just seems weird and a bit of a faff, do I really need to do that? If I do, can I just sell myself the shares?

  • Correct postage for a DVD? UK?

I'm a bit confused. I'm trying to post an item as cheaply as possible. Ebay postage seems to want to charge me over £5 for UK second class mail which is obviously ridiculous. The Post Office say £1.20 but other seem to think it should be about 68p. How can I package this cheaply?

  • Extreme weight loss - what rate? (theoretical question!)?

I'm writing a short story which involves imprisonment without food for a very obese male character. I'd like to know how fast weight loss might occur for a very fat person if they didn't eat at all. They would have access to water only.

My idea is to have this happening for several weeks, I don't really mind how long I just want it to be plausible. I'm assuming with sufficient liquids a person could survive for at least a month and maybe up to four months? At what kind of rate would they lose weight - say a stone a week?

  • Email account setup question (hotmail)?

    I have a hotmail account, let's call it X@hotmail.com.

I also pick up emails for another email address in this account, let's call that address Y@Z.com.

My question is, is it possible to SEND emails from Y@Z.com from the same mailbox or is it best to have a separate mailbox? That'll mean I have to login twice.

I'd rather do this via hotmail.
