one of my children has chicken pox at the moment, and we are worried that it may be passed on to other members of our extended family who have not had it before. is it possible for a visitor who is immune to pass it on to someone else who is not, through contact.

i bought my bungalow 2 years ago, it has a loft conversion that was done about 25 years ago. at one end of the loft there is a toilet that was done about 11/12 years ago, according to the neighbours. i have details regarding the loft conversion, but non regarding the toilet. is it still ok in respect of building regs, planning etc, or does it no longer apply after being done 11 or 12 years. (according to advice from a builder friend). he says if an extra room has been done without consent for longer than ten years, then it stays done legally, and building control cannot do anything, is he right.

i watched a programme on tv a few nights ago, where two christian families from different churches lived with each other for a week. it was like ww3. their views where completely wacky. i have never heard so much crap in all my life. the christian faith is so full of loony groups. what is wrong with ONE world wide christian group, after all we are all talking about the same bloke aren't we.

my son pays over £600 per month rent to a private landlord, when he could be paying that to a mortgage provider instead. the mortgage provider wants a 10% deposit for a £150,000 house, which he cant afford to save due to the rent. it is a vicious circle. why can't the banks give a special low deposit incentive for first time buyers. he is a homemaker, not some parasitic developer/investor. it just does not make sense. we need to get our young people back on the mortgage ladder.

i want to find work as a private nanny (live-out nanny) looking after children in their own homes on a daily basis.

do i have to register as a nanny? or with ofsted?

im not sure how i stand legally, as i heard something about 'if you look after children who are not your own then you have to be resistered' i dont know if this is true

she could have stayed in the house if she was given the chance to have one or two of her previous housemates with her for support. i knew that any winner would struggle with new housemates, let alone celeb types. bb will lose lots of viewers over this. they could still fix it if they tried. i will give it a miss otherwise. i hope josie has a great tv future ove this.

i have a vw touran, when on longish trips (usually motorway) i hear a squealing metallic noise coming from front end wheels breaks area. at around 70 mph, the only thing that seems to stop it is a sharp stab at the break pedal, then a mile or two down the motorway it starts again until i stab the pedal again. or there is a slight turn in the road. on country roads etc, it does not squeal. but i will be using the breaks more often and at a greatly reduced speed. recently serviced,,,new pads,,, front discs a bit worn,,,, can someone tell me whats going on. note....mostly happens on straight stretches of motorway

my sister wants to buy a static caravan on a park that opens all year round, with the intention of renting it out for a year or so, to make some money, and then moving here to live in it. she told me that it was proving awkward for her, as the site owners require utility bills etc. so the holiday park suggested that i could be a part owner. surely they could provide some of their own australian utility bills. i feel pretty uncomfortable about it. ,,,,,some good advice would be much appreciated.

my sister says the holiday park need to see utility bills. and their suggestion was that i become part owner, as i am a uk citizen, that does not make sense to me. her intention is to let the van for 12 mths or so, and then come to uk to live in it permanently. some good advice would be most welcome.

is it possible to use an electric shower unit under, or near a sink, in order for a supply of hot water in my garage.

i would like to make a photo dvd with transitions, music etc. but not sure what software to get.

how long will it last before they return

when part of my concrete driveway was laid, it was raining heavily while it was being floated off. the finish is pitted although it does not look too bad, however, when we walk into the house, there is a constant white residue, that dries to a white powder. could it be that the concrete was faulty, or did the rain stop it from sealing, it looks like lime, or cement. can i seal it when the weather is dryer.

ive had enough,,,can i seek asylum elsewhere.

i have recently terminated a builders contract for several reasons. he has left a few items of equipment/timber, etc on my premises.i gave him two weeks to collect his items, or i would dispose of them. is it within my rights to do this, or could i fall foul of the law. i have not seen him for several weeks, and i don't think i ever will.

having employed a builder to build me an extension, i have recently discovered that after a catalogue of errors which could have caused a lot of damage to my property, and dangerous practises that could have caused death to ourselves. and at moment, i have no heating or hot water, due to his faulty and dangerous work on my boiler. the plumber he brought in is working on the side, for cash in hand, unknown to the company he works for. i suspect he may not be carrying public liability insurance, and that he may not be gas-safe registered, ( although he might be registered on behalf of his employer). i have refused to pay the builder for any work that the plumber has done. am i within my rights to refuse payment.
