  • To what age does my husband have to pay child support for his son?

My husband has been divorced from his ex-wife for 10 years and they have a son who's nearly 15. They came to an amicable arrangement when they split up about how much my husband was going to pay and this is still more than if it was sorted out through the CSA. The problem now is how long my husband has to keep this up. His ex is becoming increasingly demanding and I'm wondering if it's because their son is going to be 16 in little over a year and she's worried he's going to stop paying. Am I right in thinking, however, he has to pay until his son is 18 or does it depend on whether he stays on in full time education etc. I've looked on CSA website and can't find an answer!

  • What's wrong with my car?!?!?

I have a 2002 Vauxhall Corsa and am having a bit of trouble! Every now and then, when I'm driving along, the needles on my rev counter/speedometer/petrol gauge all drop to zero and the handbreak light flashes on. After a few seconds it all kicks back in and the handbreak light goes off again. I also lose the noise my indicators make (not sure if my indicators are working outside by they don't sound like they are). It happens whether I'm going fast or slow or along the straight or round bends!!

Does anyone knows what might be causing this? I know the hand break light coming on can mean low break fluid levels but it's def not that!

  • Books about driving routes through europe?

My husband and I want to go on a driving holiday through several european countries next summer. I'm trying to find a book that gives details of recommended routes/scenic roads to drive along etc etc. I really only want to buy 1 book that covers several countries in western europe rather having to buy 5 or 6 books that cover just one each!

I've only found one book so far but it's out of print and I can't find anything else anywhere! Does anybody know of any such book that might exist?!

  • Horse riding question??

I used to have riding lessons when I was young but stopped when I was about 16 years ago. About 2 years ago I started riding a friend's horse (just hacking) & he's incredibly forward going & required very little or no leg to get him going. I've just moved & have started lessons again at a riding school to become a better rider but I'm really struggling to get whichever horse I'm on going forwards rather than bimbling around at about half a mile an hour!!!

I've only been twice so far but find I have become conditioned to never kick a horse on unless I want to end up in a heap on the ground or disappearing across the countryside at a horrendous speed! I know riding school horses can sometimes be lazy but I feel like I spend so much effort kicking them on but not getting anywhere!! At the min I'm in quite a large group (although this will change soon) so the instructor hasn't got the time to give me much 1-to-1 advice. Can anyone give me some hints to work with?!

  • Classical music suggestions?

I am embarrassingly naive about classical music and am looking for some help! I love really powerful, mainly piano based classical music but have no idea which composers to even begin looking at! Can anyone give me any recommendations of pieces or composers?! Thank you!

  • Am I having second thoughts?!?

I'm getting married soon (3 weeks!) and have suddenly found myself finding every fault with my fiance and thinking he's generally boring and unfulfilling (poor guy)! We've been together 4 years and he's the most lovely guy but I just can't help feeling that I'm making a mistake! Has anyone else felt like this just before their wedding? Am I just having some nerves and a bit of a panic or should I be more worried?

  • Living abroad but buying a dog!?

My husband and I have just moved to Germany and would love a dog. We've waited for 3 years to get one because where we were living before wasn't suitable. Now, however, we're ready!!! What are the laws regarding buying a dog from a breeder in the UK to bring abroad to live with regards to vaccines and the age the dog has to be?!?! Is it right he'll have to be 6 months old before we can bring him (or her!) home after we've found him because of his jabs?!

I've looked all over the internet!!

  • Mistake in Harry Potter?!?

Have just read the bit in the last HP book where he visits his parents grave. It says they died in Oct 1981. If they died when Harry was "just one" he would've been born in 1980 and therefore 27 right now, not 17?!?!

  • Does my name change legally regardless of whether or not I want it to?

I am due to get married at the end of this year but my fiance's ex-wife is still using his surname. They have a daughter together who also has his surname. I understand why his ex still has his surname but it has made me extremely reluctant to take it myself. I understand that I can not change my name on my passport, driving license, bank etc so they will still have my maiden name but will I still LEGALLY have his surname instead of my maiden name as a result of marriage anyway? If so, what will this affect?!

  • Can anyone reccommend a wedding reading from literature?

I am English and am getting married to a Scottish man. We would like a reading from (preferably) Scottish literature (poetry or prose) that talks about the two different countries and their coming together!! We've considered "The Thistle and the Rose" but deemed it too 'flowery'! Has anyone got any other ideas?
