  • Military Application for Housing/Pets?

I am an Active Military member with USMC. I am currently in MOS school, and scheduled to graduate on September 3rd, 2015. I am married (as of August 7th). I had a few questions that I need answered.

My PDS (permanent duty station) will be in Camp Lejeune, NC. CLB 6. I am trying to go ahead and send in paperwork for on base housing (which is really confusing). I've got a lot of it filled out. I also have a small dog (chihuahua/jack russel mix) that I'm wanting to bring up as well. We are waiting a 2/1 since it's just me and my husband. The wait is roughly 0-1 month for a 2/1 (this was updated on their website on August 11th, 2015.

My orders say no earlier than September 3, 2015 and no later than September 13,2015.

As soon as I graduate, I had planned on riding home with my mom (14 hour drive) to go ahead and go home to pack up both my husband and my belongs and then bringing up to my PDS to put in storage, until we are assigned a house/apartment on base.

    My questions are:

    1. If I rent a U-haul and bring our stuff up myself, would I get reimbursed the money it's going to cost me to bring it up? The U-haul along is roughly $380 and that isn't including gas or anything else.

    2. Since there is a wait on an house/apartment, should my husband wait to come up? If he did come up when I reported in where would we be placed while we wait for a place to open?

    3. I have to register my dog, is that registering her on Camp Lejeune base?

  • Concern about Marine Bootcamp.?

I have been an official poolee in the delayed entry program for the Marines, since September of 2014. My beginning IST (initial strength test), was as followed: flexed arm hand- 12 seconds, crunches- 44, 1.50 mile run 16+minutes.

I ship to bootcamp on Feb 1, 2015. We just had anot her IST last weekend since we have a new Gunny taking over. My new IST stats are: flexed arm hang- 60 secs, crunches 84, and 1.50 mile run in 13.40. Even though I passed my run, I still struggle running and its one of my biggest worries.

I am so close to ship. I know when have to pass another IST on the island. I'm not so much worried about the arm hang or the crunches... but this run! I passed once but like I stated really struggle. I have never liked running and I def don't want to get dropped to PCP.

Can anyone give me some insight, motivation, or know what will happen at boot if for some reason I don't make time? Like, how many chances do hey give you to pass the run? I guess I'm letting my nerves get to me. I just don't want to fail! Any insight is appreciated.

I'm 23 years old, 5'3" and weigh 141lbs. I'm of athletic build. Thanksnfor your answers.

Also, I'm supposed to attend a pool function tomorrow (specifically to all females), however, I jut had one last week AND I ship in a week. It supposed to rain all day and I don't want to take the chance of getting sick/injured. What would you do? I really don't want to go! I've never missed one before!

    Thanks!

  • What is going on with my body? Recently off depo shot?

I've been on deprovera for about 6- 61/2 years. (I realize the recommendation is 2 years, but whatever). I have been off the depo shot for about 2 months now. I still haven't gotten a period, I have gained about 25lbs and just recently my nipples have become extremely sore and I've been having back stomach aches. I've also noticed that there are stains in my bra (where my nipples go). It that just sweat, or what? Never had that happen before. I've been to the gym off and on, and have had a really hard time loosing anything. Seems like I will loose a few pounds and put it right back on. I have never been this heavy. My normal weight was about 125ish. I KNOW for a fact that I am NOT pregnant, so what in the world could it be? I haven't really changed eating habits or anything. Im a 22 year old female. I realize this isn't much to go off of, but will coming off the shot cause me to be in this much pain and to GAIN that much? Seems like everything started after I got off. When I was on, I NEVER had a period, and I was 125lb-130lbs when on it. I'm about 5'2. It's insane, its driving me absolutely crazy. I feel terrible and I don't want to waste my money going to a doctor. I've been to the doctor with stomach issues before and they put me some some medication that helped, and then I came off of it. Any guesses as to what it would be?

  • Which is easier when purchasing a home?

So I've been running around in a circle trying to get financed for a home. We can go through USDA which finances home 100%. All I would need is a "good faith" deposit of $1000 and $400 for them to inspect the house. Long story short I put a bid in on one house and lost it because other bid was a cash offer.

Only one bank that I know of finances mobile homes and they require 20% down (haha- yeah right). I've been working with a Realtor to find a house with at least three acres.... no luck. So my question is, would it be easier, (and would the bank finance), me trying to purchase raw land and just putting a house on it/building one? Or would it be easier to just find a home already built? I'm getting desperate to get out.

  • What is going on with my mustang?!?

    I've got a manual 1996 Ford Mustang Gt. It's a 4.6L (v8).

    Here are the symptoms:

As I'm shifting gears, the car "acts" like it doesn't have any power to go. I guess the best way to describe it... is... it runs like it's out of gas.... it gurlgles, and sputters to go. Finally it'll catch and run like it supposed to after so many rpm.

I actually checked the spark plugs and one of them was completely fried (it looked as if something had hit it- it was completely black and the 'hook' part was crushed). I replaced it and it's continuously doing the same thing... what else could it be?

My gas also smells like gas... I'm not sure if the mixture is off but something definitely isn't right.

Any car savvy people, please help me figure this out, if you can. I will be happy to answer any questions.

I'm not due for an oil change just yet, and everything else is fine. My gauges are working properly... so I'm at a loss.

  • Ever had a fall on horseback that just left you laughing?

I'm in the process of training my 9 year old paint mare. She's really sweet, but it took a while to get her that way. Before we got her she was used as a broodmare. Nothing more. When we got her she was pregnant AND nursing a foal. Well, she's come a long ways... and long story short, yesterday when I was riding her she was doing GREAT until she just bucked and took off running. I hung on for a good little while and felt myself coming unglued, so I just let go. My knee hit the ground and I landed in a large pill of tall grass... THANK GOD. lol. My mother came running over and I couldn't do anything but laugh. It wasn't her fault. We think it could have either been a snake or maybe her tail or something got stuff in the grass or whatever. Anyways... what are your stories?

  • First time home buyers? Need Help/Advice on what to do next?

So my fiance and I have found a decent little double wide outside the city limits. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath and sits on approximately 7 acres. I need to keep in mind the acreage because I have three horses I have to move shortly. We've went out and met up with a guy to look at the property and the insides of the house. It's a 96. It's got a couple of problems that need to be fixed, but we're okay with that.

The owners want 69,900 for it. It was bought for 70,000 back in '08 and was forclosed on in '10. I don't believe there are any leans or anything against it since it's been bought again. It's been on the market for a little over a year... my question is... what is the next step?!

My fiance has spoken with the bank and they do not do "no down payment". We'd at least need 20% interest up front, and that we just can't do. The bank personal has advised us that there is a program called USDA that does "no downpayment" and finances up to 102% including closing costs... but what do we need to do?

We def don't want to go through this bank... being as we can't afford it... how can we find out how much of a loan we can get approved for? We would need at least 70,000 I believe (even though we're going to try and talk them down on the price). I would be secondary and he would be primary. I don't have any credit and he's has decent credit, along with being at his job for almost 3 years...

Can someone please explain the process to me?

I've already done tons of research on the house and looked at what the electricity runs each month for the past year. It's never been over $400 and the lowest was $150. It also has a private well, so we wouldn't be bothered with that.

I was told that no one would finance a "mobile home" because it doesn't have a "permanent foundation". *Sigh* Can someone please clear some of this confusion up? This is also in the State of GA.

  • Skyrim Xbox 360 help? Can't beat Potema!?

I'm level 19 and am on a quest to bring Potema's body back to Syteer. For some reason I CANNOT defeat that Drauger Deathlord. I usually stand in the doorway and let the draugers come at me one by one, but when he shows up, it's like I don't even stand a chance. I've got an inventory full of health items (10HP/each or more) and a coulple potions... I'm also using a Dwarven sheild, equipped with all Heavy Armor.

I don't know what else to do. When I see him running up I shoot him with my enchanted flames bow, and then switch to an Elven blade (I do not have any more weapons- because the guy in the last room had a shout that disarmed me and left me without any weapons). I can get him down to about half health... but then he comes back and KILLS me. I've also used my masture Relenting Force shout, but it takes to long to recharge. OMG, this is driving me INSANE.

My compainion was also killed... any HELP?!

  • Is 21 too young to get engaged?

I'll be 21 on August 10th and my boyfriend will be 23 in on August 12th. We want to get engaged in August. We have been dating for about 8 years now. We don't live together but we've been searching for some place to live. Though the "search" has been put on hold for a couple of reasons (no I'm not preggo), we would still like to get engaged. I was just curious is the "community" thought 21 was too young to get engaged? Once engaged, we're not going to rush to get married. We'll probably wait until I'm 23 or so...

  • What is this insect?!?

Last night this THING crawled on my back/neck... I went to kill it and I noticed it was like a "cow ant"... and those things are really hard to kill. I had to hit it like 10-15 different times before it stopped moving. It also made this angry hissing sound (I obviously can't make the sound).

Here is the picture of this thing: http://i47.tinypic.com/vymg04.jpg

His body is like a dark brown/black color with copper/gold speckles. He's not a beetle because his whole body isn't hard. Please someone help me figure out what this is so I can have some closure.

  • Valentine Gift Ideas? It needs to be special!?

Okay, my boyfriend and I have been dating over 7 years now. He's 22 and I'm 20. He has been extremely sweet to me... for example... yesterday he took his only lunch break to take my tire to get repaired (it had a gash in it). I didn't even know his did until he said "it's fixed". He also bought me lunch! He's a really sweet guy... so anyways... I don't know what to get him... any ideas? Some things he is into are: Cars/Bikes, Softball, Working Out, GA Bulldogs, Fishing, Hunting, ect.

This is hard. I don't like the "traditional" gifts... it's always the same thing... chocolate, balloons, flowers, cards... I want something new and exciting to give him. It'd be better home-made or something. I currently don't have a job (I just graduated college and got back from a short trip in Miami) so... :S Help? Thanks!

  • Questions about items being brought on an airplane?

I'm a little unsure of some things... first off can I bring nail polish? It's a 0.45oz/13.3 mL bottle.

Second, I brought my laptop down (stuffed it in my suitcase). Well this time I want to carry it on so more things will fit into my suitcase. I know we are only allowed ONE carry on and ONE suitcase under 50lbs. My question is, if I carry my laptop & purse on will that count that as two carry-on items, or just one? If they are going to count it as two, I'm just going to stuff my purse into my laptop.

If you have any additional information that might be useful, please let me know. I'll be flying out of Miami airport (God help me-lol).

  • How can I keep my TB warm?

I live in south GA. I have three horses, a retired thoroughbred named Sonny whom is now 13 years old. I have have two paints named Dixie and Dakota. Now, I'm pretty sure you guys are aware that winter is approaching (obviously).

    Here is my question:

How do I keep my TB warm during the winter?

The poor thing... its so unusual to see a tb grow "winter hair"... I know this helps him, but the poor thing still shivers so bad he looks like he is about to fall over. He stays in an open pasture, he hasn't been in a stall in over 8 years, so I would be afraid to put him in one. Dixie and Dakota have NEVER been in a stall (I've tried and they literally freaked out). So where one horse goes, the others must follow.

Anyways, we have a rain-proof blanket that we use on him. I'm pretty sure that one day in winter it's going to rain making it even colder. My mom and I have literally had to go out with hot water and bran-mash and feed him (in the pouring rain). Is there nothing else that I can do to help him keep warm? Dixie has a blanket but we stopped putting hers on because she always takes it off. . .

I want to go ahead and prepare before it gets really really cold again!!

    No negative comments. Thank you!

  • Car problems. . . AGAIN?! ugh.?

Here we go again... (Sorry it's so LONG)

I have a '96 (standard) Mustang GT. I just had the clutch replaced in it... say early last year... because it was clacking (I think it was the throw-out bearing). Well, the clutch was replaced and I didn't really have a problem with it. **Keep in mind I drive over 500 miles/week at LEAST to go to school.**

I've been under so must stress lately, that I have neglected to check the oil (I know, stupid stupid). So yesterday at the softball field, I messed around a little and played around with racing off the line across the softball parking lot... we didn't go far (both of us spun a little). I missed second and stopped because by that time he had left me. Anyways, so I drive back to my boyfriends house and we happened to get stopped at the red light. Well, this is when my boyfriend told me my car is knocking BAD. I turned my radio down and OMG it was.

We popped the hood and tried to figure out where it was coming from... he told me it could be a rod... I have no clue what that is... or where it's located. So I call my parents and they tell me to check the oil... of course... NO OIL. ****! Then it hits me... (again, as I've said I've neglected to pay attention to gauges due to stress) it hits me and I finally realize that my oil gauge has been fluctuating bad... NO WONDER. Ugh... so I went and bought oil stabilizer (1 qt) and 5 quarts of oil to put in my car (I only put 5 quarts total in- the stabilizer and 4q quarts from jug of oil.

I cranked the car and let it circulate, and the sound of knocking was significantly lower... and sometimes it would stop... then pick back up (as in get louder) and continue... Please, does anyone know what went wrong? Will the oil eventually fix the knocking noise? No negative comments, I already know what I did was stupid (I don't ever do that... and just happened to that night), and I'm already under a LOT of stress from college and trying to find a job...

    Thank in advance!

  • Anyone have any clue as to what this could be (HORSE)? URGENT!!!?

I have a 7-8 y.o. paint mare... since yesterday my mare has been acting weird.

I ponied my sisters on her yesterday and let them graze for a little while before putting them back into the pasture and feeding them...

Then we noticed that our mare wasn't eating her food... we continued to watch her and she was breathing hard, was grinding her teeth, and would be standing still- then all of a sudden back up and make this low squeal noise. I have NO idea what is wrong with her.

We thought it was colic... we went and hosed her off, thinking maybe it would help... she also had a nice pile of poo after we hosed her off... we put her back into the pasture... she still wouldn't eat the grain so we just took it away... there really wasn't anything we could do, so we would check on her in the morning. The "barn manager" agreed to check her in the morning and let us know how she was doing...

Well we are paying her to feed our horses, sometimes she'd feed, and sometimes she won't. She also feed them at like 5pm when it's still hot outside (even thought we told her NO!!) We found out that she had not fed for 2 days or so... (we feed our horses a gallon of feed/day).

Today, the same results... she is still grinding her teeth, backing up and making this weird squeal noise... she also has this sound like she is "burping"... please... someone help me figure out what is happening. Yes- we plan on calling the animal hospital in the morning and buying some banemine (if it is colic).

  • What do you think of my tattoos?

I got my first tattoo at 17. It's in color and cost me around $50. Took a maximum of 15 minutes to complete. It represents where I'm from (Miami, Florida), I also got it because there something about Flamingos/Palm Trees I just love. It's probably because they both remind me of the beach. . .

    http://i53.tinypic.com/2v33txx.jpg

My second tattoo (I was 18) was done on my upper back (between my shoulders). It took 2 1/2 hours to complete and cost me $250. I love it. It represents my religion and what I believe in. :D

    Before: http://i54.tinypic.com/91kpx4.jpg

    After: http://i51.tinypic.com/dm4gie.jpg

Of course, I put them in places I could hide them if need be... but I just want to know what you think of them. I like 'em. :D

Additional Questions: Do you have any tattoos?

Would you consider these turn off tattoos?

  • Question for all the people with tattoos.... ?

Don't you find it rather annoying when people go on and on about how "tattoos are permanent" and "they are going to fade and distort", and that they are "ugly to look at it/ it should be illegal"? I swear sometimes I want to crawl through the screen and slap them.

So my question to you is... Doesn't that bother you? Also, how many tattoos do you have and where? What age did you get your first one?

I was 17 when I got my first one. I have a flamingo/palm tree in my right ankle and a large cross w a trinity symbol/wings that covers the top part of my back (between my shoulder). :)
