  • Customs problem, overcharged?

I got a package from an Ebay seller from Taiwan which was $8000 TWD. About £140. However she didn't right TWD and customs seemed to have charged me £380 is customs charges because they seem to have treated the $8000 as USD.

What can I do about this? Although the seller should have wrote TWD, surely customs should have realised since it was only make up in the packet and it was from Taiwan that it couldn't be worth £4,000.

    Argh help!

  • Getting deposit back from landlord - do problems have to be noted beforehand?

I am moving out of my property soon that I have rented for a year. We were shown this property by an agency but it turns out the owner was 'managing' it herself - she did a terrible job by the way. The day after our moving out date, she is coming to inspect the property. We will get it in excellent condition again, but I am concerned that she will add on charges for things to take money out of our depost.

Usually the agency will check it there and then for us and obviously note any problems. But since this is not happening this time around, ss there anything I can do to protect myself at the point of moving out? There will always be reasonable wear and tear but landlords love to keep deposits...

  • Kitten keeps licking a bald patch on the belly?

I am looking after a 6 week old kitten and three of her siblings before rehoming them.

One of them has a little worn down patch on the belly - although she does groom that area a lot, I noticed her buddies tend to go over and lick her there too and even my existing cat.

Is there anything I can do?

  • Kitten being sick?

My 7 month old kitten has diahorrea, which varies from being quite bad to light (for the last 3 days). She also has been sick three times, and coughs up quite a big hair ball while shes at it!

Took her to the vets two days ago and they said just to give her plain chicken and see how it goes.

Background - a week or so ago we took in some kittens only 6 weeks old, and are looking after them untill their new owners are ready to take them. They have started socialising with out 7 month year old (she still chases them and plays with them) but always under supervision. The little kittens tried to sneak some of her food and two actually went into her litter tray and had a poo! Our kitten meanwhile went into their room and ate some of their dry food and had a poo in their open litter tray.

I am not sure if I should stop letting them socialize together at all, and if this is causing her stress.

What can I do right not to make her feel better? Thanks

  • Cat is hissing at me?

I have a 7 month old kitten. She is lovely and quite relaxed normally. Recently, I have been looking after 4 orphaned kittens (6 weeks old) before giving them to new homes in a few weeks time. To lessen the distress, I have kept them in a safe room.

However, the existing kitten seems to be able to smell them on my hands, which is ok, but then if I go to stroke her, she hisses. She only does this is she can smell the kittens then is touched at the same time.

Is there anything I can do to lessen any problems. Once the kittens are stronger, we intend to keep one of them.

  • Does my kitten need a friend?

I've had my kitten for two months, she is 5 months old and really well behaved, a lovely cat. She was spayed recently.

Since me and the other half work all day I am concerned she might get lonely. She doesn't display any problematic behaviour at all, but I am worried she'd get bored.

I am thinking of getting her a friend, maybe another female kitten who is younger than her.

Is this a good idea? The point of getting another kitten is so that she has a companion, I don't want her to be upset at all.

  • What will an employer do if you don't have your P45?

I have been working in my new job for 2 weeks but my previous employer (a temp agency) have lost my P45.

I won't get paid again for 3 weeks. Without my P45 will my new employer have enough time to sort my tax code out or will I end up paying emergency tax?
