  • What should we do in Japan?

We're going to Japan for our honeymoon for 2 weeks in September. What would you recommend we see / do / visit etc?

We'd like to see some cool sights, see local people, eat local foods, go scuba diving, use public transport, have a relaxing day or 2 but overall it'll be a fairly busy, active honeymoon.

We'll probably be backpacking but staying in nice places - not hostels but 3* hotels or even peoples houses if we can.

Any recommendations, thoughts, suggestions, dos and don'ts would be very helpful!

    Thank you in advance

  • Have you been to Langdon Court Hotel, Plymouth, Devon?

So, my fiancee & I have found this fabulous country house hotel for our wedding called Langdon Court Hotel just outside Plymouth, Devon and we're literally about to put our deposit down

However I've read on trip adviser about bad experiences previous guests have had there - not enough staff, cold running water, rude staff, poor breakfast buffet etc.

I know to take trip adviser reviews with a pinch of salt, but I wonder what experiences you've had if you've been there recently ie the previous 18 months (I understand that the new owners took over then). Honestly, how were the rooms? The staff? The food? The organisation on the day? Any info would be great! Thank you

  • Transport around Hawaii's islands?

I am visiting Maui, Big Island and Honolulu in November, and would like to find out the best modes of transport around each individual island - is there public transport on each island? Or mostly taxis? Are they expensive? What about rent a cars? Again, Are they expensive? Any info on transportation would be great.

On a side note do you have any recommendations, suggestions, dos and donts whilst visiting the islands? I'm interested in scuba diving, going to see the volcanoes and having a general explore. Oh and some relaxation time!. What can you recommend which isn't in a guide book? The donts are just as important as the dos!

    Many thanks

  • Magazine recycling in Vancouver, BC, Canada?

I have a pile of weekly magazines which I have read and want to donate somewhere in Vancovuer, BC, Canada, so that others can enjoy them.

I am from England and I know that at home local doctors / dentists etc accept slightly dated magazines for their waiting room for their customers.

Does anyone know somewhere in downtown Vancouver when I can pass my magazines onto? If not, I guess I'll just have to put them out for regular paer recycling.

  • We need ideas for Dad's 60th birthday!?

Help! Dad's 60th birthday is coming up soon & we need ideas on what to get him.

Hes a financial advisor, belongs to the rotary club and is involved in the local community. He has no hobbies as such. He's been a little ill the past few months (nothing too serious) so anything 'crazy' ie skyjumping, is a no-no. We have no specific budget.

We want something memorable for him - either an actual present, or an experience or perhaps something else.

Any ideas? What did you get your Dad?

    Thank you
