A miniserie teve 10 capitulos (que eu me lembre).

To procurando o nome em ingles, mas nao acho em lugar nenhum!!!!

  • "1984" book alike TV production! Help me find the name....?

Ok, I watched this TV Special in Brazil a long time ago, probably between 20-15 years ago.

It’s very much like 1984 book, where people live in a society controlled by CCTV and rules.

But the main character manages to escape and finds a place where people live like in the 16th/17th century and he swaps place with one of this place inhabitants.

The Portuguese name was -translating it - “The Guardian” (referring to the CCTV rulers) but I don’t remember the English name for it. Could even be a german production!

It was a Tv Special with 10 episodes.

Does anyone out there know its name? Thanks!

  • London pubs that show Formula 1 in beer garden?

Hiya! My hubby and I were thinking about going to a pub which shows the Formula one on its beer garden. Seem such a shame to waste the sun outside, but on the other hand, we love Formula One and don't want to miss the race !!!

Do you know any place where they do that?

Note: It has to be in London or near by.

  • Service Providers make me loose my mind!?

I am trying to call Abbey callcenter for all they long today and stuck in the queue for more than TWENTY MINUTES each time I try and give up because I am at work and can’t be hang to the phone all day long!! How much does it cost to put some more competent agents working on their call centres??

Worst still is the whole telephone/broadband combo. What a bunch of lazy untrained guys.

First BT doesn’t tell you that by just changing the name of the line owner, your broadband connection will be lost and you will have to get it reconnected at your own costs.

Then, when you decide to go for Toucan, because they promise you line rental + broadband in 10 days time, they will just ake a fool ou of you and keep you waiting almost a month and yet, nothing happens. So, you wanna go back to BT. Only to be told you need to wait another 2 weeks before they even touch your line.I'm damned wherever you go! Sad thing is? Same thing happens back in my country. Why are they so bad?

  • Period before birthday in astrology?

This is more a translation question. In portuguese we have an astrological term for the period which precedes your birthday – its something like “astral hell”. It supposedly means during that 30-day period you will have lots of problems or bad luck. Is there such a term in english?

  • What are those yellow flowers across English fields?

While travelling from London to Bath this weekend, we've spotted loads of fields with yellow flowers which formed a stunning landscape. Now we are just wondering... What are those flowers and what are they used to?
