Could a Scottish F1 driver represent Scotland instead of the UK?

I'm fairly new to F1 and was wondering if a Scottish driver could choose to represent Scotland and have Flower of Scotland as their anthem on the podium?

Or are they considered British by default?

Why do so many people say that modern formula one is worse than the old formula one?

    Favourite answer:

simply put it's not as competitive as it was 10-15 years ago, also the cars are being made easier and easier to drive, don't mis understand me they are not easy to drive, given the incredible accelaration rates, and constant physical geforce strains on the body....but come on ABS ERS DRS TCS,  pretty sure Ascari Hawthorn Moss Fangio Stewart, never had all these creature comforts....For instance this Hamilton argument, it's an obvious fact he has won every single one of his world titiles whilst driving for the obvious best team, no ifs or butts about it,  to me that's not that impressive..

Is Monaco the hardest formula one track?

    Favourite answer:

The most difficult one is the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, the Eau rouge curve. Nobody can go wrong.

Imola old when senna and ratzenberger died was the most difficult very irregular and fast.

Have you ever heard of a race faster than Formula 1?

    Favourite answer:

Because of the design of circuits , F1 cars are designed with acceleration and cornering speed above outright top speed.

Indie cars racing in mainly oval circuits have higher top speeds but would be hopeless on any F1 circuit.

Speeds at Le Mans are also way above F1 because the track is mainly long straights.

Why don't tractors have seat belts?

You'd think they would be more necessary than even on cars because of how dangerous the machinery can be and how bumpy and rough farmlands and swamplands can be where tractors are used

Can you be a formula 1 driver without a driver's license?

I want to do formula 1 I have played the official video games and I've decided I want to do it on a very professional level. I've done karting for fun so I got an idea of how it feels to go fast and the strain from your hands on a steering wheel. My grandpa built a race track my mom owned it and then got tricked into selling it which that's kind of a sad story. It was going to go down to me. I live in Indiana and I've gotten an actual interest in formula 1 and as someone from the US the sport would be good to have US representation back I think. I know there is one driver from the US that's in formula 2 but formula 1 has actually lost interest in the US. I can't watch races live because I'm not subscribed to ESPN so I will go on YouTube. I know of one racing school in Indiana that has a good history with Indy car drivers. I know Indy car and formula 1 are different but you can understand similar things. I do want to know if they would ever ask for a license before they let you drive their cars though? And I know racing does take a lot of psycial exercise to be able to handle the g-force. I know a lot of people in the US probably don't pay attention to what's going in formula 1 but answer this. Also I know how racing lanes work on the sense of going farther away on the outside when going straight and then getting close to the corner when turning. I have looked up videos explain F1 racing skills.

What if George Russell outqualifies & outscores Valtteri Bottas this weekend (5/6 Dec 2020)?

    Favourite answer:

At most, i can see Mercedes switching George and Bottas. However I don't think it will happen because Mercedes know the best way to win the drivers title is to back 1 driver especially if RBR get closer. Bottas is the ideal second driver. He picks up enough points to get the constructors.

If Russell does do very very well this weekend, i can see Mercedes going into the Hamilton contract negotiations with a fairly safe backup in case he prices himself out of the deal. The better Russell does this weekend, the lower Hamiltons salary gets.

how is skill or talent measured for motorsports like F1 or Rally?

I can think of talent in a swimmer, runner, strong man, etc.. but in driving an F1 I'm not sure where the talent lies. Is not the car the one that provides most of what can be done on the track?

Why can't F1 drivers just switch cars from race to race? I.e. 20 races, 20 drivers, 20 cars, everyone races one race in one car.?

I assume it's not feasible as it seems the obvious way to make things more interesting, Why is that?

    Why is Ferrari so slow?

I’m a new f1 fan so please bare with me, but why is Ferrari so slow compared to last year? Is it a power unit issue or new aerodynamics of the car? Also, what prevents them from just using their 2019 car and competing with that if that is faster than their current car?

How are people even fans of Mercedes?

Such a boring team- nothing to cheer for. They don't really have any competition at all at the moment other than the occasional red bull.
