email is faster, higher quality, instantaneous, and you don't have to wait in line if somebody else is sending an email. where is the down side?

i mean, nobody on the planet would consider buying a product without knowing what it costs. but it doesn't matter if it's a TV from Best Buy, or a central air system from a certified reseller, or a copy machine from CDW, every one of them is either "Add to your cart to see price" or "Request a quote" or "Call for price"...

geez, can't they just tell me?!? i don't want to be hounded with follow up junk mail or spammed with cold calls, or invest in their company. i just want to know a simple thing: HOW MUCH?

i failed History pretty hardcore. every time i read a description of each of these, it sort of sounds like the same thing, but with minor differences. do they really need half a dozen terms to describe some minor difference i can't even see? it's almost as bad as the United States of America calling itself just "America" or "the United States" or just "U.S.A." or "U.S.".

then compound to that that it was formerly a member of the European Union, which contains several of the countries in Europe, but is somehow different from Europe itself?

i mean, many have VGA and HDMI, some even have DVI. but none of them that i've found have DisplayPort.

is there something different DP does that TVs just cannot handle?

and yes, i realize that monitors are designed for computers, but in this day and age where we strive for a singular entertainment system, what if i DON'T want several displays, and DO want to manage multiple sources by remote control on a single screen?

i don't mean like "Satanist" or anything like that, i am talking about a more GENERAL term, like "demon-pacter" but something more official sounding. just curious.

i like to call things by their proper names, when i know them.

i mean, provided it wasn't produced on equipment that also processes wheat or wheat products...
