Request receipt.......when message deleted?

I had an obvious junk 'work from home' e-mail ($ not sterling) and did the usual block sender & deleted. When I came to empty deleted items a message came up saying a receipt had been requested sent to nerdshack.com when message is deleted.

Options Yes, Yes to All, No, No to All, Cancel.

Message appears to be from Microsoft but is it? Is it safe to press No? There appears to be no other way to send it to recycling.

Update:

No I am familiar with read receipts this one asks for confirmation when message is deleted

It should be safe. Many programs like Outlook or AOL have the ability to let people set a "read receipt" on outgoing emails. If you click YES, it will let them know you received the email and read it. If you click NO, it will send them a message that it was deleted without reading. Unfortunately, either way it will alert them that it is a "VALID" email, but since you have marked it as SPAM, that should not be a future problem.
