How many of you have observed the silence today at 11am on Remembrance Sunday?

And will you also be observing the silence on the 11th November at 11am?

Update:

Sorry, I should have pointed out that I observe the silence every year on both days (when the 11th does not fall on the Sunday.). And I always get my poppy on the first day they become available.

No I have never done this as I am against war. This year I wore a white poppy but I never wear a red one. I was sitting quietly reading the paper with my son, but aware of the bands marching outside spoiling a peaceful Sunday morning. You can find out more at the white poppy site below:

I observed the silence, watched the parade in London on the TV...created a lens to educate people about remembrance Sunday and also shed a tear for my Grandfather and other members of my family.

    My Grandfather liberated Bergen Belsen

My Great Uncle was shot and wounded at the battle of the Somme

My Great Great uncle was in the Boer War

Unfortunately I failed the fitness test to join the armed forces as my eye sight is not good enough.

Against war or not its to remember the fallen, not everyone wanted to be in the war and many countries which where taken over whoms people suffered didn't choose but we remember those people also.

I bet some folks would remember if a enemy had taken over there country and they now lived under a dictator.

Iam sure the families whom have lost loved ones are very proud of some of the folks whom couldn't spare 2 Min's or felt it was a little noisy outside.

I do remember this day 11th November every year as the day World War 1 ended with millions of casualties, none in the name of any Religion !

I most certainly did and will always do so. I marched with pride in my local parade & will continue to do so until ill health prevents me from doing so, even then, if I have to be pushed in a wheelchair, I will Always remember the men & women who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we could live a decent life in spite of the warmongering politicians.

I always do, and so does my son. We owe the veterans so much, it is the least we can do to show our gratitude.
