What you think of Fabio Capello new appointment?

I think is going to be bad both for England & Capello

Take this from an Italian Supporter

Update:

He is a good coach with a good reputation I am not disputing Capello ability to succeed, what I am disputing is the ability of the English prima donnas to co-ope with is discipline.

Thei will start crying and the supporters will start shouting for his head befor Fabio can proove his worth.

Update 2:

That is what I mean Andy

i don't understand why you think that? as long as he is enthused to manage the team i don't see why people object, at the moment who is out their? the English fans demand a very high standard and can be unforgiving if you fail to live up to their expectations, this is well known in football circles, also the media are relentless, he is a manager who will not take any nonsense from them, Italian football is a tough call. he has a good reputation in football, can you tell me who you would choose?................................edit............... OK i understand your point and agree that may present a problem, but judging his past performances those celeb under achievers will be dropped, lets hope they are, on paper England should be top five all the time, good luck on that.

I think it will go all wrong, unless he has the following:

1 The full respect and co-operation of his players and the Premiership managers. Capello will be the 'guvnor' so they have to Respect him. Players need to stop bitching to the press when they're dropped, and managers need to free up players for internationals-no more 'sudden injuries' when an England match is due and 'sudden recoveries' when the match is over

2 The press to leave his personal life alone, from what ive read of him he is a family man who cherishes his privacy. We should ALL respect that. Even if he is stumbling out of a club with busty blondes LEAVE HIM ALONE

He doesn't have to be popular, he doesn't have to be a wit and charm us by quoting Balzac at press conferences. He just has to get England winning Trophies

If he does that, he will be the first Italian knight in the EU!!!

England are either a team that will perform and be world beaters regardless of who the manager is ( which does not happen very often) or per usual play substandard football and no manager will be able to do anything about it. For years we have had the players to be the best but for years they have under performed.... being more concerned with getting home to their 10 bedroom house and model girlfriend. So in answer to the question, he is a good manager, but coaching a Jekyll and Hyde team will be an up-hill struggle.

under the current set of circumstances, capello is the right man to manage england. if england performed well, they would not need him, its simple. but they cant string together a set of 3 passes and cant keep the ball out of their own net. they need someone to instill discipline and an airtight defense, which is what capello is good at. face it, they cant play on open game and win.

if beautiful football is what you (or the FA) want, regardless of results, then you wont be happy over the next few years. if qualifying for tournaments and winning is what you want, capello is your man.

its a good call....by appointing him as manager.. he has all that what you call abilities style control and is not interested in playing Quality plaeyrs. hes kinda man who would rather like to bring the quality of picking the best players to make a team. 'He doesn't necessarily pick the best individual players. He picks the best blend. He showed that at Real Madrid. think he can win the World Cup with England and make them into a team feared and respected throughout the world.

    Good choice FA...

They are paying £6m for a good coach but a coach does not make a team and at present the England side is short on skill and endeavour. It is quite a gamble.

Heaven help England, when we have to employ a coach who can't even speak the language.

My interest in the national side has diminished already!

Time will tell, we can only speculate. From what I've heard so far is he'll nottake any rubbish from the spoilt brats. So if he cuts short players like Ferdinands iternational careers he'll have my backing even if we win nothing.

Hes a great manager itll do us good. I cant believe people are saying hes not worthy to manage england. More like england arent worthy to have him as the manager.

people have to give him a chance he might be just whats needed....

but i think the best thing would be if we got the BBC pundits, Alan shearer, Ian wright, and Alan Hansen to be in charge how god would that be!!! they always talk so much sense at half time/end of the game! lol
