What engine is in my ford focus 04 plate 1.6 LX?
There are no zetec badges or names only LX.
It is a 16 valve petrol engine.
Also if possible can you provide a link to a photo to back up your answer.

They are still "zetec" range engines,even though the cam cover says Duratec.
The original research and development for the 1.6 engine (specially developed for the Focus) was done by Yamaha for Ford.
All other Focus petrol engines are derivatives of the Mondeo units.

Your engine is still a Zetec, they didn't put the badge on them all and there are several different Zetec engines.
They only stopped using them in January 2005 and Zetec engines were manufactured until December 04.
Focus 2s have Duratech engines.
