Why does Yahoo Answers get offended by punctuation?

I was answering a question a moment ago, and got this message on the right of the text box:

"Hmm... it looks like you have a lot of punctuation."

What on earth? Are we actually not allowed to use full English grammar and punctuation online if we so wish? :-S

they're just comments don't worry about it. You can still say whatever you want Disregard the text balloons. ;)

If yahoo! told you that you weren't allowed to use full English grammar, it would be a violation of your rights.

Yes, and your grammar is incorrect in English, you should not, for example, be starting a sentence with 'and' this is a fatal Americanism, the appearance of such started the steady decline in standards.

Oddly, I find that message comes up when I correctly use a comma after and in a list, the list for example:

Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet.

Commonly, the comma before the and on the last item is referred to as a Oxford comma, and is strictly the correct way of form a list in this case.

As for US sites inflicting there poor spelling and grammar on the rest of the world, perhaps here in the UK we should start a Campaign for Real English, silent 'P' anybody?

    Anal. I know!

Simply because yahoo is American and uses American "English" ,their grammar and punctuation is less than ours.

    The "spell-checker" is bad enough.

Funnily enough typing this I got the same punctuation comment LOL.
