Absolutely none. It is the tenant who is liable, and it is him who is getting into more and more trouble by avoiding his debts.

But, obviously, many bad payers might try to avoid debts by pretending to move. So you might have to put up with quite a lot of letters demanding payment for some time to come.

Is the name of the company "telOgram" if its them just chuck all their letters in the bin, they use a few other trading names but they do the same thing, try and intimidate people into making a rash payment when it isn't even their bill. You don't give them or the phone company anything. Don't even give them your name. If they phone up and ask for your name tell them its "joe soap" and then hang up. How do these parasitic bastards work? they'll go back to previous occupancy and look for unpaid bills, they then buy the bill of the service provider such as O2 then they'll send you a letter saying on behalf of their client they've been authorised to make a cash payment to yourself and they'll give you a number to ring, you phone them and they'll refuse to say who they are while trying to get as much personal information about you as they can. TelOgram have had a few of their other trading companies shut down for fraud. 02, TelOgram whoever just bin it.

I stand by what i said just throw it in the bin, don't mark it as "not here" and put it back in the post box, if you do then they know its a valid address with somebody in residence. They rely soley on the fact theres somebody at the same address. Don't rip them up, just bin them whole. Debt collection agencies buy a debt, if the person who was in your property before you had a bad credit rating for failure to pay his sky bill the collection angeny will use that against you even though you have a good credit rating.

Debt collection agencies use illegal tatics to try and scare you into paying somebody elses debt. Me and the missus have been in this rented property since 05, we've had phonecalls letters final demands made out to us personally when we didn't even have sky or NTL or BT. I bin them all with no acknowledgement from myself or the missus.

You should have just sent them back marked "gone away" or "no longer at this address" or something similar. Not doing that makes them think he's still there. Next will likely be a visit from the bailiffs.

You are not responsible for his debts and no action can be taken against you. I just hope he hasn't fraudulently used your name.
