Whats happened to Desperate Housewives?

As I'm in the UK I'd be watching it on a website when it was aired in America. But it seems to have vanished for episode 9. Why's it taking a break until December the 5th? Does anybody know?

    This time of year, there are a lot of holiday specials and such on. It's Thanksgiving week, so that is why there is no new episode this week - people tend not to watch much television over the holidays. There will also be a big break in December as well. Here are when the new episodes will air:

    Dec. 5

    Dec. 12

    Then the next new episode doesn't air until January 2.
