Where is spoken the Cockney accent ?

I know that the accent is from London (and in other cities perhaps?) . But I wonder if it's still spoken nowdays and where exactly (today!)

Thank you

yea it is still spoken in london but it will be gone soon because left wing nutcases hate cockneys and want to drive them to extinction, basically by shifting real east end people, black or white cockneys to the suburbs replacing them with muslims who cannot speak english.

The Cockney accent is most commonly associated with those living in the "East End" of London in the United Kingdom. It has been said that you are only a true Cockney if you were born within the sound of Bow bells, in other words, the bells of the church of St. Mary-le-Bow. Since the end of World War 2 many of those born and brought up in the East End have moved further east into the suburbs and the county of Essex as much of the housing was destroyed during the war. The Cockney accent lives on in the developments that were built there to house those affected but exposure to various forms of media and regional accents means that it has been diluted. You may also be interested in Cockney rhyming slang which involves the use of words that rhyme with those that the speaker intends to use in order to disguise their true meaning from others who might be listening.

Rarely heard in its native East End of London today.
