Forgot to ask the question? I have an idea what it was.

Great Shogun Shien applies a spell/trap limitation on the opponent as a continuous effect. If Great Shogun Shien leaves the field, or his effect is negated, or stops applying for any other reason (ie, the opponent steals control of him) then the restriction is no longer applied to that player.

He never 'locks in' the restriction, only ever applies it continuously. So the opponent activating a spell card, and then destroying Shien by battle, does not mean he can't then activate more S/T cards. The effect that was stopping him from doing so, is no longer in effect.

Likewise if he steals control of it with Creature Swap, then he is now the controller and the former controller is now 'the opponent'. The new controller is no longer affected by the restriction and can activate more S/T cards. The former controller is now affected by the restriction.
