Did you know AKC does do kennel inspections?

Here is detailed information on what some people (like ninefinger) THINK only the government or Dept of agriculture does; but is indeed done by AKC and what to expect (as a breeder) if they decide to inspect YOU:

https://www.akc.org/inspections-and-compliance/

And if you have frequently used sires (who are bred 3 times in a calendar year, or who have produced 7 or more TOTAL litters) you must have a DNA kit (the AKC will provide) already on file before any more litters from that stud will be registered.on file with the AKC.

Dog may be "sampled" for proving correct DNA & to assure correct record keeping purposes "DURING KENNEL INSPECTIONS" but this will not give the owner a DNA profile they can use.

Given the links provided, I can't see how Amos is spreading false information, or needs reporting over this!!   Even if the AKC can only visit and advise, surely 'a nod is as good as a wink' here??

I also don't see why 'one of the AKC board director's is my wife's best friend'.That could smack of collusion?

The 'question' could be seen as not a question however?

I have to AGREE with ninefinger in this instance. He's right AND you're wrong. Also, this isn't A knowledge seeking question in THE spirit of Yahoo's ToS. It's more like chat. You're not asking, you're telling. So I am afraid I will need to report you and I hope others will DO the same. There's too much trolling IN the Dogs section.

Hey dude,  read your own link. They have ZERO power to regulate or inspect kennels. They do VOLUNTARY compliance inspections.  They help " breeders with setting up kennels and assist in compliance ". They make sure records are up to date and correct. That is a big difference than compulsory inspections like you are implying.

And our current Champion male has sired 6 litters with 6 females around the country.  That's him in my avatar picture. My wife is one of the top handlers of working dogs in the country.  And has finished over 300 working dogs in a 40 year career. We've breed both males and females over those years. But NEVER 7 litters in a year. Those are BYB. We have never been into the breeding for the money(you never even break even). We do it for the advancement of the breed. Not only those qualifications. But my wife is a working dog judge for the AKC !!

40 years of owning and breeding  show quality  dogs that are all registered with the AKC.  And never once have they inspected my wife and I. And by the way. One of the AKC board of director's is my wife's best friend.

Any owner and breeder of pure bred SHOW quality dogs can see that I know exactly what I'm talking about.  There are plenty of users in this section that THINK they know what they're talking about. While I actually do know what I'm talking about. Not only that. But as a CURRENT State of Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation K9 Officer. I assist the DOA with compliance inspections. And I have seized dogs, arrested BYB and shut down puppy mills. And NEVER ONCE was the AKC involved. Although we have received tips from them on BYB and puppy mills.

And I don't know why the user @Abe Gippeau has me blocked. But I appreciate the support and agree with him about the trolls.
