How can I fit a VHS tape into a Blue Ray player?

    You can't, the tapes are too big, and totally different recording format.  As for copying home made tapes, find a professional service.  Movies, cannot be transferred.

    you take it to a computer shop and get it converted onto a blue ray disk

    I guess you could smash it up with a hammer, then hammer it until it is really flat, then burn it / melt it.  Then wait for the remains to cool off.  Then put the ashes in the blue ray player.  Then go to the store and buy a new blue ray player.

    Do you want the Blue Ray Player to record what you have on the VHS or would you rather have the VHS Tape record what you have on the Blue Ray player?. A VCR "Input" could connect to the Blue Ray Recorder's "Output" and the Blue Ray recorder's "Input" could connect to the VCR's "Output" so you can record from one device to the other.
