I absolutely LOVED not going to school.

Source(s): It's a state-sponsored popularity contest that should be avoided at all costs.

  • I went through twelve years of public school and I studied Elementary Education at my university . Your success in school depends on "how many answers you get right" on a test . Instead of "how many answers you get right", a teacher should require the students to write a paper explaining how much they learned -- and that shouldn't be in the form of an essay test . Essay tests are immoral and unethical, and they should be illegal . Most teachers offer a mediocre lesson to present their information . Instead of an "A" being a hard -- to -- get "top of the mountain", I had one professor at my university who offered his students a choice -- we could do five projects and get an "A", four projects and get a "B", three projects and get a "C", two projects and get a "D", or one project and fail . I did my five projects, learned my share of information, and got my "A" . Most kids start school all excited about learning, and most teaching methods kill that interest in learning . I sometimes say "I've learned enough for one lifetime !", but that's as far as I'm aware . Sometimes I realize that I actually enjoy learning  something . That's because when I look for information, I know I won't be judged harshly, I don't have to be tested, I can do what I want with said information, and I can jog my memory if I have to learn it all over again .

Because it is boring and kids rather be at home doing what they want instead of learning what they don't want. Kids don't understand the value of school. Even the ones that do don't necessarily like it better.

School means 18 and under.  Who knows why they hate school.  Most have oatmeal between their ears.  We all did.

In my case, I learned to hate school and everything connected with it because I endured years of physical and psychological abuse while I was there. And I'm FAR FROM ALONE in that respect. There are MILLIONS of adults out there who are just like me, and who went through absolute utter HELL at the hands of the American public education system. Most of us are hard to see, though- because we learn how to hide our scars very early on in our lives.

And one other thing :Your sentence should say that you "HAVEN'T" been to school in a year, not that you "hasn't". Haven't is present tense, hasn't is past tense.

Ineffective teachers, bullying, people comparing clothing, hairstyles, and physiques, homework, tests, having to get up early, and the list goes on.

Because it often seems boring and pointless while you're there. And kids can be really cruel.
