What method of communication is the best?

It's Samuel Morse's birthday today, the inventor of morse code which is still practised in modern society.

Cheers would therefore like to ask what in your opinon, what was the best means of communication invented? Email, telephone, wirless? Explain why you believe this to be the best method of communication and what impact has / did it have on your life.

Morse code is probably still used by the Navy and other armed forces , and I would say either the phone or radio has to be the best advance in the respect of a soldier but happy birthday to him.

    Verbal- Face to Face.

You can read a persons face, body language and get a far better idea of what they are actually say and if they are telling porkies or not.

In terms of invention, I would go for emails.

It allows me to talk to you on the other side of the world in minutes.

When I was growing up it would take 10-14 by surface for your question to get to me, and providing I replied instantly, a similar time before you received it.

Airmail would have been marginally faster, but the cost would have been classed as extravagant.

I have contacts in the US, Australia and India and I can send them the same letter, written once, and not rewritten or use carbon paper.

Email , phone wireless? is that all our choices?

Because I believe the best one was WRITING. It is far from instant, especially over long distances, but it works across TIME. You can receive communication from people who lived hundreds,or thousands, of years ago. You can leave communications for people in another place and another time. There is no need for both parties to be there, available, listening, at the same time (organising which can be a problem).

Email would be the closest newer equivalent, for normal use.

The military applications are probably quite limited; the security applications probably negative (considering they leave a written record of things which might have been better kept secret).

Whilst text, email, IM, etc have revolutionised the way we communicate, face to face communication is the best. You can get so much from someones tone of voice, their facial expressions, their body language... it makes the conversation so much more involved and expressive. you can read so much from all of these other aspects of conversation that you just cant get in electronic communication. Face to face conversations are more truthful and genuine too... it seems far too easy for people to lie or misrepresent themselves through electronic communication, hence why developments in email, IM etc are not totally a 100% positive thing.

I think one of the most interesting stories regarding communication is that of king Charles I of England. When he was imprisoned in Carisbrooke Castle, he smuggled out letters to his supporters signed 'J' to try and arrange an escape... alas he never made a successful escape (not for lack of trying...) but his legacy lives on- now if you visit the castle (on the Isle of Wight) all of the donkeys they keep there have names beginning with 'J' in homage to Charles I.

    I think that's a kinda cool story anyway! :-)

Where i was as a child there was no phone, imagine when we got

our first phone in Australia as a young teen , wow it was super,

though i don't ever remember abusing it the way teens do now. I never

recall staying on it for ages, well not till i was into my 20's...........

If i had to use Morse Code i would imagine it was a brilliant invention

and would have been invaluable, as for the net .... well i just love it

and could not live without it.

The greatest way to communicate with people is through eyeball to eyeball contact. That way you get the full experience of what the persons saying and meaning.

The best ways to lie to someone is by using the phone or texting, as they can't see you're body language.

Morse code? Ha! All that tapping would drive a person mad! :)

I believe that both email and Telephone are two of the best ways to communicate with one another, but nothing beats talking with someone face-to-face.

    Hope this helps :)

In my opinion the best means of communication as of today is a computer with internet connection. It has all the services you'll need for communication at a very low cost.

what i use on daily basis and cant live without are:

    cellphone(which has internet and tv)

    mac book

wireless communication is the best because it is the most efficient and fastest way to communicate.

today we are able to talk on our cellphones, answer a Y!A question, find your location, and watch tv from the same device.

personal computers are also able to do more actions each year.

i like this method of communication because you personally dont have to attend the even to be there, you dont have to be home to get online.

it has greatly impoved my life and i cant wait to see what the future has in hold for us.

The internet, as it is the most global means of communication and the fastest.

It has introduced me to so many things, new friends, a source of entertainment and I am now a YouTuber thanks to the internet.

Also it has helped me get a job, due to a online job recruiting website.

It helps me get acting jobs, through an online Actor's Bulletin board.
