Yahoo's annoying and there's always trouble-makers lurking around, I don't think I'll be coming around here as much. • Should you use daylight time when calculating a chart?

I was just thinking, shifting the clock back an hour won't change which signs happen to be rising/setting wherever they are. I've been using daylight time because of force of habit, but now I seriously doubt if that's right...

  • It's just so appropriate that thanksgiving is always on Thursday, don't you think?

The day ruled by Jupiter, the holiday of appreciation, feasting, charity, family and friends, the Sun is even in Sagittarius. Agree? And what are you doing for today?

  • "A heart is not judged by how much YOU love, but by how much YOU are loved by others"?

Worst line in The Wizard of Oz, it sounds to me like The Wizard is saying it's more important to be popular than to have the capability to love or feel.

    Agree? Disagree? Explain? Amiwrong?

  • Where's your chart ruler and how do you feel about life?

For instance, if you have Capricorn rising, then Saturn is said to be your chart ruler. If it's in Aries does that mean you see life as a battle to be yourself?

Put your other signs if you want to also. =)

  • Can chewing gum cause someone to break out in a rash?

A couple of months ago I started to get rashes on my elbows and eyelids all of a sudden, they sort of look like psoriasis rashes or hives. I'd never been diagnosed with that or any other skin disorder, but a few months ago I started chewing a lot of gum to keep my breath fresh while I'm outside, and sometimes inside the house too. So I'm thinking I'll probably stop chewing gum for a while to see if that helps, but tell me what you think.

  • Can bacteria survive fire?

I ask this because I was told they can survive just about anything, even boiling oil. So can they survive fire itself?

No, I'm not going to try sterilizing things with fire, I just want to know.

  • Are these air sign horoscopes accurate?

Wrote 'em myself, for early Nov. '09:

    Gemini-

You've really gone and done it now, haven't you? Years and years of acting impulsively and never having to worry about the consequences of your selfish actions has gotten you into a bind now, hasn't it? Yup, looks like you've leaped without looking one time too many and now you've gotten yourself stuck in something pretty intractable now. It's not ALL your fault, only about 95% or so. Well, the bad news is that there's nothing you can do about where things have gotten and where they're going. The good news is that for the first time in a long time you actually have been afforded a humbling reminder that you DON'T know everything and can learn some real lessons about life and how to act in the future - don't you DARE forget what you're learning now. Eventually things will get a little better, but there will be change and what you've lost will never be completely replaced.

    Libra-

Who are you? Where are you? What's your purpose? Also, who loves you? What should you believe? These are things you're thinking about now. You've been superficial for a while, but now you're wondering if that was right. You've probably found yourself a bit alone, and yes, it is your own fault, love and friendship are rare and you shouldn't have run from them, now you're feeling what they felt when you left them. Not all is lost, you still have time, just be patient, and yeah, you've got a lot of things going on now.

    Aquarius-

What happened to you!? Where's the cold, heartless, selfish Aquarius we all knew and tolerated? Oh, I see, it's still there, it just looks like some things have happened: You've learned to have some appreciation for other people's feelings, haven't you? See!? Is compassion really that hard? No! ...Well, "compassion" isn't really the right word, no, you've just learned emotional manipulation, and still pretty rebellious too, as though everyone else has to suffer because of your pain, which you're still struggling to understand. Now that you can sort of understand other people's feelings you've figured out how to use this to your advantage. And you lucky something-er! Even though you're completely transparent it seems you still get your own way and no one is either willing to stop you, able to stop you or they're on your side. Your allies will probably fall before you do, but I think you've gotten a nice lucky streak on your hands. Just a warning: It won't last forever, don't get TOO comfortable. You have great opportunities now to change, I doubtfully wonder if you'll actually use them..

  • Isn't it funny that vedic astrologers on here always seem to know more astrology than they let on?

They ask for advice but they show that they already have astrological knowledge, usually more than many users here, at least as far as Vedic astrology anyway.

    Why is that?

  • Death of a hard@ss:To remember or not to remember?

I recently went to a funeral of a family member. In his life he was pretty hard, serious, a bit of a curmudgeon.

But in the obituary it seems like his daughter painted a rosier image of him, and I don't mean just slightly or as if she was having a post-mortem idealization of this guy out of grief, I mean like she actually took personality traits he didn't have or perhaps of a father she wishes she could've had instead of actually describing his real good points, which maybe she'd forgotten. While this is a bit harsher than he actually was, imagine going to Scrooge's funeral and the obit instead sounds like Carrot Top, wtf?

How should I feel about this? Is it actually ok to make up things about the dead like this? Shouldn't we just focus on the truth of the person? Isn't the darkest truth still better and more weighty than the most pleasing lie? Isn't making up things about the way a person was kind of disrespectful? Like who that person was just wasn't good enough so now that they're gone and can't argue with it we're just going make you who we like because you weren't good enough for us? Since a person is dead are we really suppose to just pretend they had any faults (out of respect)?

  • Gemini vs. Cancer: whose moodier?

I think Cancer's reputation as the "moody sign" is seriously exaggerated, the Geminis I've known seem much more emotionally unstable then the Cancers.

Does anyone agree? Share your stories and convince me otherwise plz.

  • Holy cr@p, do you think this could blow someone's mind?

Assume there are approximately 5,000,000,000 (5 billion) people on Earth. What would you estimate to be the result, if you multiply together the number of fingers on every person's left-hands? (For the purposes of this exercise, thumbs count as fingers, for five fingers per hand.) If you cannot estimate the number then try to guess how long the number would be.
