  • how would you react?

This may seem to be slighty insensitive of me and I don't want any judgment I just want prespective from this situation. Just recently a mother and her daughter have just enrolled into school. The girl is a chemo patient all of 5 years old and just totally adorable. My heart instantly broke for her and her mother, and I felt a sense of pride for her mother as she had also shaved her head in support of her little girl it was a beautiful sight to behold, and instanly my memories of watching and nursing my dearly beloved grandfather thru cancer came flooding back to me, the sadness and heartbreak of this terrible diesase that i would not wish on my worst enemy. Being a mother myself I could only imangine the pain and heartache of what this woman is going thru, but here is where I feel a sense of uncertainty. There was a letter placed in my bag that all the kids had recieved in the kindy classes. This letter was from this mother explainging about her daughter and what she is going thru, and how to explain to your child if they ask questions and how to deal with it. She ended the letter as such...If you want to talk to me about our journey please feel free but please don't tell me that you know how I feel because a family member is having chemo at the moment. Until your child is fighting for their lives, sorry to offend but you have no idea I pray you never have to understand. When I read this last passage, I felt so upset by this is it wrong of me to feel angry at her words?

  • am i loosing my friend?

I know this must seem an immature question considering my age and life experiences.

    but here goes.

My dearest and best friend lets call her beth over the last year or so has been somewhat distance. Now this I do know she has been having a hard time with certain illnessess that are causing her to become less active and sick all the time, she complains of constatn fatigue, the doctors suspect lupus. any way I have been friends with her for over 11 years, she has been my rock, my angle eveything you could ask for. I appointed her as god mother to my daughter and have always helped her in any way im always there for her. I even allowed her to be at the birth of my first born son, it was a special moment and my husband and myself were so thrilled to have her there. But not to long ago when i was visiting her, when she was having a sleep her BF and I were outside and he said "did beth tell you that I proposed" I was so shocked when he told me this and I said no she did not he too was quite shocked as he said but your her BFF i dont know why and im sorry if you didnt know. I shook it off and said dont worry and congrats I was sincerely happy for them. But she never ever told me I waited for 4 weeks for her to tell me after her BF told me and still did not say anything, I eventually plucked up my courage and said i know you are engaged and I wanted you to know that I know and I hope there are no hard feelings, she didnt really come up with an excuse as to why she couldnt tell me. But ever since then when I ring, leave a message, text message she never responds, when i do eventually hear from her she acts like she has missed me and seems genuinly happy to hear about me and my family. She always says things like i really want to travel up to see you and the kids but Im so sick, or I cant get the time off or I cant afford it..yet she is always travelling interstate and just recently got back from thailand. I cant understand this behaviour. why she claims to me how much she loves me and my friendship ect ect but lies to me and hides from me in truth. I miss my friend so very much and feel even more sad becuase I can never have a cry on her shoulder when i need her. Is she genuine, or should I just walk away and realise that she does not want to be friends with me any more…:(

  • homosexuality in animals?

A recent discussion led me to ask this question. With all the current media attention about homosexuality and how it is deemed a pervision and a sin and considered unnatural from the likes of religious and non religious people. There have been documnetd cases of around 1500 species that display homosexual behaviour from primates to gut worm. So if homosexuality is deemed unnatural, and yet it has been discovered within nature is this a natural occurrence.

the definition of natural is existing in or derived from nature; not made or caused by humankind so if homosexual behaviour does exist within nature and clearly these 1500 species have not been caused to do so by human kind, why is this so unnatural for humas to be homosexual, is this a case of religion deeming this or is it a human responce that we feel is not right. is nature and natural to be understood as this definition states or is nature to be classed as something to be expected and accepted.

  • is it racist to call an australian an aussie?

its apparently racist to call a lebanes a lebo, a pakistani a paki and a aboriginal an ***..all these are basic australian slang as a lot of australians tend to shorten their words. Be amazed that there is never any hatred or voilent talk when majority use these slang words, which I understand why Austrlians are deemed racist.. But why is it not deemed racist to call an australian an aussie

  • understating how a hydrometer works with wine making?

I was wondering if anyone can help me in regrds to gravity readings with a hydrometer. Im currently in the process of fermenting some homemade mulberry wine..its been day 4 of the primary fermentation. On day two I did a SG reading and it read at 1.090 which I have read is meant to be a good reading for fruit wines. now at day 4 I did another reading and it now reads at 1.040..so the question I want answered is, if my first reading was at 1.090 and around 12% alcohol will this always remain or will it drop when the readin drops as my reading is lower from the first im just confused how it works as the instructions state that when your reading is at 1.000 then the primary fermentation is ready for secondry fermentation is this correct

  • are there levels of nut allergies?

My daughter is in 3 year old kindy and the schools policies is not nuts. When I asked the teacher why she said that there are 3 kids in her class alone (20 kids in all) that have a nut allergy. Please forgive my ignorace on this matter but how many kids do actually have nut allergies and how many parents just basically overreact. I understand the severity of nut allergies, but when I asked my daughters teacher what products are we not to bring to school she just said Oh only a ban on nuts, food products with traces of nuts are fine just the kids in your daughters class are only allergic to whole nuts..the question im asking is, I thought if you had a nut allergy then how can you be allergic to nuts but not products with traces of nut, and if these kids are apparently "anaphylaxis" then how can they be fine around products that have traces of nuts, it makes no sense and a little bit annoying that my daughter cant have her favourite nut bars to eat at school becuase these kids are apparenlty Highly allergic.

  • could time travel exist in the future?

If time travel ends up being discovered in the future then why have they not come back in time to tell us how it is done. Is it becuase they dont want to share, or they think we dont have the resources and techonolgy, or is it becuase they dont want us to know that time travel does exist. Or is it becuase it actually hasnt been discovered at all!

  • how many generations does it take to be deemed a native?

Ok so I understand that Australia is a multi cultural country made up of mainly european and english migrants. But at what point does a person become an Australian to be deemed to be apart of a race. They say that white australians are not a race, only the indigenous Australians are.

so for instance Im an 8th gen Australian on my fathers side and im a 7th on my mothers. Im 32 years of age which makes me a Borderline Gen y and Im pretty sure 8th generation is as far back as you can go for someone of my generation in regards to convicts and free settlers so forth. So in terms of science and genes bloodlines ect at what point is a person deemed of that race. Im confusing myself here and hope some one out there gets my question!

  • how small could a planet be!?

So now that Star R136a1 has been found and proven scientists that stars can and are alot larger than what they believed. Could the same be applied to planets. Earth is a relativly small planet compared to other known planets. But could there possibly be planets that are so small that earth is the size of R136a1 that we could be a race of gigantic beings and there are tiny planets supporting microscopic size beings! kind of hurts my head just thinking about it but could it really be possible? I mean micoscopic organsism do exisit I understand that but could there be an advance race of tiny people living on tiny planets that we just cant see becuase they are just to small!

  • is my husband cheating?

Ok My hausband and I have been married for nearly 10 years, and I know im going to get a lot of flack for staying with him...but...

Over the years my husband has been caught out (by myself) for doing inapporiate things over the internet, when I was 6 months pregnant with our second child I discovered he joind an internet dating website, and I discoverd he had a brief internet/webcam affair with an ex girlfriend. Technically my husband from what I know has never touched or been with another woman, but what he did over the Internet in my mind was wrong and it still felt as he cheated on me. Now 3 years on things have been great and he swears he is past being the "immature" guy and he knew he had to do some serious growing up, but my trust has somewhat declined and I still find my self checking his FB and Emails. What I have recently discovered is emails in his junk folder from various dating websits, sex cam websites and gambling websites...my question is..has my husband joined these sites, why is he recieving these junk emails?? Is it just spam but how or why are these emails being sent to him, do I have anything to worry about..I know he watches porn it sort of bothers me but he works away and I know he gets lonely but it is only porn not with a live woman he can chat to and have a online relationship..im really confused please help!

  • My husband was invited to a wedding and I was not on the invite.?

Just recently a friend of my husbands is getting married. an invitation was sent to my husband requesting his attendance but i wasn't included! The groom I met many years ago and used to live with him and his girlfriend at that time. And this was how I met my husband. But I have never met his new partner. So I understand if she never invited me because we have never met, but I do know the groom and he even came to our wedding! I'm to worried to ask if it was a error because it may not be and I don't want to be left feeling red faced! I'm confused as I want to respect the bride to be decision but I feel that it was rude, what should I do!
