Is the nightlife in Austin or Dallas a good place to visit right now with covid?

Hello! I am considering going to Austin or Dallas, TX in June of this year for my 30th birthday. I am going with about 15 friends and we were looking for somewhere in the states that aren't heavy with mandates. Does anyone know if the bars/clubs on 6th street in Austin enforcing sitting down at tables and not walking around, masks, etc? As I know, the state of Texas resumed normal, but not sure if the cities are cooperating. Please let me know, thanks!

Should I live in Michigan or Texas?

    Favourite answer:

Are those your only choices? I'd choose Texas because I don't want to drive in snow 3 months a year, or pay the high heating bills. But if I had to live in Texas, I'd live in Austin.

Is Texas mayor right that residents should fend for themselves &  ‘Only the strong will survive’ ?

By Tuesday morning, the residents of Colorado City, Tex., were getting anxious. More than 24 hours had passed since a deadly Arctic blast knocked out power across the state, leaving them without heat or electricity in below-freezing temperatures. To make matters worse, many also lacked running water, forcing them to haul in heavy buckets of snow each time they needed to flush their toilets.

“No one owes you [or] your family anything,” Tim Boyd wrote on Tuesday in a now-deleted Facebook post, according to KTXS and KTAB/KRBC. “I’m sick and tired of people looking for a damn handout!”

“The City and County, along with power providers or any other service owes you NOTHING!” he wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.

Boyd suggested that residents without electricity should simply “step up and come up with a game plan.” Those without running water could either deal with it, or “think outside of the box to survive and supply water to your family.” He did not offer any further guidance, such as where safe drinking water or reliable electricity could be found.

“Only the strong will survive and the weak will [perish],” he wrote.

The controversy highlighted how one of the worst winter storms in decades is testing the limits of the embrace of self-sufficiency and rugged individualism in Texas.

What are your opinions on Austin, Texas?

    Favourite answer:

A little town trying to be a big city.

Good thing is, Austin is more liberal than much of Texas. Ignorance in many conservatives irks me.

Should I pack up and re-locate to Austin.Tx?

I'm 22 and currently reside in West Virginia. With the unemployment right high and the drug/Meth academic at a staggering rate I keep on saying I need to find my place I'm passionate about. Creating art and playing music I'm still unemploymed and still unsure where I'm going can someone give me a logically reason that I should move to a so called bomming hip place and if I should consider moving to Austin than any other city 🌃

    Austin Texas or NYC?

Currently live in filthadelphia and want to move. Wifes family lives in texas and we both like it because of how cheap it is to live and other stuff. I make 75k and that will go far in texas rather than NYC. But NYC has alot of culture, more jobs and it is more us. We both are artist and we like the city vibe but not sure if Austin has art culture. But at the same we want to own a house rather then renting a 3000 studio in NYC. We want to own stuff then rent. However in NYC no car ( no car payment and insurance). In texas I have to get another car for wife, credits good so payments will be low I'm in the film industry and would love to know if Austin has the type of media. I lived in NYC before and I know the film industry is amazing. Also wife is in insurance so not sure that Austin has alot of those jobs for her. Plus we love the outdoors as well.
